Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
1. Introduction
RankQuest ("we", "us", "our") provides a system that analyzes websites and generates automated decisions about what actions may improve search engine performance.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we process it, and your rights.
RankQuest acts as the data controller for your personal data.
By using RankQuest, you agree to this policy.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
2.1 Account Data
When you create an account, we collect:
- •Email address
- •Name (optional)
- •Authentication data (password or third-party login)
2.2 Project Data
When you create a project, we collect:
- •Domain name (e.g. example.com)
- •Project name
2.3 Observation Data (Core System Data)
RankQuest collects and stores observations about your website and its presence in search engines.
This may include:
- •Website crawl data (HTML, links, page structure)
- •Metadata (titles, headings, canonical tags)
- •Internal linking structure
- •Performance data (e.g. PageSpeed metrics)
- •Search performance data (via Google Search Console, if connected)
- •Search engine results data (via third-party providers)
These observations are:
- •Automatically collected
- •Stored as immutable records
- •Not edited or overwritten once created
Observation data is generally related to websites and does not typically include personal data, unless such data is publicly available on your website.
2.4 Google Search Console Data
If you choose to connect Google Search Console, RankQuest requests read-only access to your Search Console data using the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly scope.
This may allow RankQuest to access:
- •Verified Search Console properties available to your Google account
- •Search performance metrics such as queries, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position
- •Site or property metadata needed to identify and validate the connected property
RankQuest uses this data only to provide user-facing SEO analysis, observations, signals, decisions, and recommendations inside the RankQuest service.
RankQuest does not use Google Search Console data to serve ads, sell user data, determine creditworthiness, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
3. How We Process Data
RankQuest processes data through an automated system:
Observations → Signals → Decisions
- •Observations are raw collected data
- •Signals interpret that data
- •Decisions are system-generated outputs
All decisions are:
- •Automatically generated
- •Deterministic based on system rules
- •Not manually reviewed by default
RankQuest does not provide human advice or consulting.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data under the following legal bases:
- •Contractual necessity — to provide the RankQuest service
- •Legitimate interests — to improve and secure the system
- •Legal obligations — where required by law
5. Data Storage and Retention
We retain data as long as your account is active.
Due to the nature of the system:
- •Observations are stored as append-only records
- •Decisions are stored for system integrity and auditability
- •Logs may be retained for security and debugging
If you delete your account, we will delete personal data where possible, except where retention is required for legal or system integrity reasons.

- •Hosting providers (cloud infrastructure)

8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your jurisdiction, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection.
